Stikalicious 1.1

stikalicious_grab.png

The Stikalicious iPad app has been launched! Thanks to the hard work of Dacosta down at Chocolate Soop studios. He's put together a growing collection of amazing artists and an app that allows you to create fully customizable wallpaper from your favourite characters. Included is my own Stika Collection named "Space Junk" and is available for in-app purchase. I might add the app is a free download and includes a sample pack from each artist so you can take it for a test drive. Check it out.

My 5th Annual Studio Sale

squarespace_sale_sm.jpg

Welcome to my 5th Annual Studio SaleIt's that time again where I gather up all the misfit artwork from my studio in efforts to make room for new work and raise the funds to build future shows. Most are remnants of past exhibitions or just unfinished work. Here's the rules: first come first serve, no holds, the price you see is the final price (includes shipping and packing), no negotiations please as most of this work is already reduced to the minimum. Shipping: All prices include shipping to North American destinations only. All other destinations require a an additional quote. Anything under 12" will be shipped by Canada Post (2-4 weeks). Everything else will be shipped via FEDEX ground service (5-7 days). Framed works with glass will require additional crating time. Please be patient as crating takes up a lot of time and resources (1-3 additional days).

Vancouver 125th

gastownmap.jpg

Back when we lived in the Moon Base Gallery on Carrall Street I built this map to guide people to our events. It's been collecting dust on a hard drive ever since. So in celebration of Vancouver 125th Anniversary I made the design available to the good people at Tees in Gastown for this amazing show. It's a Vancouver downtown east side map of all my favourite streets, including Blood alley which used to be our backyard and home of the Pig and Whistle Pub which I might add is steeped in Vancouver scooter history. Artists include: the Jupiter Project’s Luc Latulippe, Mia Hansen, Vicki Wong & Michael Murphy, AKA: “MEOMI” (creators of Vancouver’s 2010 Olympic Mascots) -Kai Vermehr, Steffen Sauerteig, & Svend Smital, AKA “eBoy” (Berlin’s "Godfathers of Pixel") -Chris Von Szombathy, published by Drawn & Quarterly -Illustrator and comic artist Tony Cliff -Illustrator and Art Director Garnet Syberg-Olsen & the Hamburger Disco Boys.

Quite a few of us will be in attendance at this event and come early for a free 1" pin!

TEES 227 Abbott Street, Gastown Friday, June 3, 2011, from 6PM - 10PM FREE (Cash bar with wine & beer) FREE 1” pins, courtesy of MEOMI (limited availability)

Lollipop Circus - Ode to Alexander Calder

The paint just dried on "Mobility", a new piece headed to Elroy Artspace in Portland. This is my first PDX show and in honor of their amazing scooter scene I Vespa'd my ode to Alexander Calder for the upcoming Lollipop Circus. The exhibition opens this Thursday, June 2nd and wil be showing through the month of June.
I've always been a huge Calder fan. His mobiles are fluid, colourful, alien, and have influenced my shapes and colours from the first day I picked up a brush.
This group exhibition of fine art is comprised of imagery inspired by that of Alexander Calder, one of America’s foremost modern artists, and internationally recognized for his invention of the mobile and his large-scale sculptures.  This is Elroy Artspace’s second show highlighting works created by contemporary artists as inspired by those of mid-century masters, following last season’s “Dreams of Eames” exhibition. If you're interested in this painting please contact
Elroy Artspace - 300 SW 6th Avenue, Portland. (503) 609-0503

Sputnik Plunk

I'm opening up my latest show at the Harold Golen Gallery in Miami on May 8th, 2010. The exhibition is called Sputnik Plunk (space junk). It's a compilation of space dreams and multi-coloured worlds. There are some familiar themes and some new surprises in this show so please give it a glance. I'm planning on being in attendance for the opening so please help by visiting my Annual Spring Studio Sale for my Miami fundraiser. Please help get me to Miami.

For those who always ask a show preview will be posted here a week before the opening date so keep checking back.
This will be the last figure-based show for 2010. I'm going to finish off the season by concentrating on some contemporary work that I've been itching to start. Seems like there is a positive to an economic down-turn because it's lending me some time to experiment and have some fun with some large scale pieces.

Enjoy the show - Mister Atomos

Cycloptic Studio's 4th Annual Painting Sale

I just launched my 4th Annual Cycloptic Studio Sale for 2010. This year I'm trying to raise enough money to finish my spring shows (paint isn't cheap) and get myself to Miami for the Harold Golen opening on May 8th. It's been a challenging economic season and I have to keep this art train rolling. I get art supplies, you get cheap art. Good deal huh? Included in this years show are some older framed pieces and quite a few of my 6" MINI paintings. Prices include shipping within Canada & the U.S.A. International shipping will need to be quoted. Each piece comes in a blonde-wood frame and is sealed under glass for your protection (excluding MINI's which are painted on cradled canvas). Please no holds, barters, or bargaining. First come first serve. Sale ends May 1st, 2010.
